The upper features soft, premium K-Leather in key areas that have high contact with the ball to offer first class touch and enhanced ball control. The Medusae is built on Umbro’s speed outsole, also featured on the Velocita, which is constructed for speed in all directions, improving agility by mimicking natural foot motion and traction with a unique Umbro stud configuration. Across the mid foot area (lateral and medial), leather has been replaced with a performance mesh cage, which allows for a dramatic weight reduction. To enhance stability and durability the mesh is covered with a thin layer of TPU. On the inside of the mesh performance cage, a built-in TPU A-Frame runs to the top of the eyelet stay, locking the foot into position and providing optimum stability. The heel tab is dipped for more comfort and cradled in an external heel counter – offering an extra layer of protection against impact during the game. Above this, soft leather has been used to allow the boot to mould to the shape of the foot and provide a fantastic fit. The perforated sockliner is made from pre-moulded EVA for extra breathability and comfort.
