Women’s connective tissue:
Female connective tissue is genetically weaker. Athletically active women in particular have a problem with dimpling of the skin on the upper thigh, buttocks, hips and arms since they store more lactate in tissues with increased activity. That in turn disrupts the flow in the lymphatic system, causing water to buildup in tissues that results in swelling.
